3 Things You Can Do To Make Your AC Installation Easier

by Grace Motley

Getting a new air conditioner means that you are going to be nice and cool when hot weather comes around. It also means that you are going to have service techs in and around your house to do the installation. There are things that you can do that will make it easier for the service tech to come and install your new AC unit for you.

Have an Adult Present

One thing that you need to do is to make sure that there is an adult present. You need to have them there to let the techs into the house so that they can do the work and so that they have someone to answer any questions they may have. If you can't do it, see if you can arrange to have a friend or family member there who can do it. Even if they don't know everything about your house, your friend or family member should be able to answer some basic questions, and you can arm them with your phone number so that they can contact you if need be.

Secure Your Pets

Another thing that you need to do is to make sure that your pets are going to be someplace secure and out of the way. This is especially true if you have pets who are skittish or don't like strangers. Putting them in their crate or locking them in another room while the techs are there is going to make it easier for the techs to do their job and will help to keep your pet calmer and less stressed during the installation. It's the best situation for everyone involved.

Clean Your Yard

Cleaning here just means making sure that there is no debris or such around where the outside unit will go. If you have rocks and toys out around your house, then moving those well out of the way will mean that the service techs don't have to do it or don't have to work around those things. You will also want to make sure that they have a clear path to the area where they may be installing the outside unit.

If you are going to get a new air conditioner, you want to make sure that you are doing everything you can to make it easier on the HVAC tech doing the installation.. That way, your AC will go in smoother and easier.
